 Kevin
A. Scott is the president and principle broker
of Maverick Land Group LLC. He was born and
raised in East Peoria, Illinois, and from there
went on to attend Murray State University in
Murray, Kentucky. There he graduated with a
Bachelor's degree in business
communications/marketing. After graduating from
college, he went into the automotive industry in
Tampa, Florida. His position was in new car
sales and sales management for two years. Kevin
attributes a great deal of his success in sales
to the early training and the competitive nature
of the car business. Kevin then moved on into
the investment banking business where he became
a stockbroker/ financial planner for three
years, also located in Tampa, Florida.
He then moved to Knoxville/Sevierville,
Tennessee to make a change in his life. Kevin,
by fate, landed in a career that has been a
passion of his for twenty years, the land
business. He started working for Patten
Corporation, a New York stock exchange company
in 1989. The company’s owner, Harry S. Patten, a
pioneer in the land development business,
founded one of the most successful land
companies in the nation. “My experience with the
Harry S. Patten company (now National Land
Partners) laid the foundation for my success in
the land business.” Kevin always had a vision to
have his own land company, and in 2006 made that
a reality. “I‘ve truly been blessed my whole
life, and finding a career I could truly be
passionate about was simply icing on the cake.”
Kevin A. Scott has over 21 years of experience
in all facets of the land development business,
including sales, sales training, sales
management, project management, marketing and
advertising, and event coordination. He has
worked directly with thirteen communities.
